The immense treasures of the Amazon rain forest are beyond our ability to comprehend. The beauty of its flora and fauna are hardly seen elsewhere on our planet. The indigenous tribes that are still practicing their ancient traditions and spirituality have tremendous wisdom and knowledge, and some of it is openly shared with the world. The indigenous way of living in balance with their environment have much to teach us on our off-course way of life.
But the treats to the Amazon rain forest and its inhabitants are plentiful and devastating. Cattle ranching and agriculture, poaching, bio-pirating and smuggling, commercial fishing, damming, mining, logging, oil drilling, drug trafficking and pollution are all depleting resources, endangering flora and fauna, creating tremendous suffering for animals as well as indigenous peoples, and majorly contributing to global warming.
